And boy am I pissed I didn't know about it. I pass there every morning on my way to work. It's almost literally down the road from my house. When it gets warmer I'll stop there one day and take some pictures for Oppo.

Knowing Tesla, I wonder if this thing could actually kill someone... Other than by falling on their heads, of course.

The chemical waste at the site probably could have at a point. The base of the tower is still there too.

This guy here raised money to have that rebuilt as well.

Figured I would share that cause it is related...and I love the Oatmeal

That is excellent! And IIRC, our favorite evil genius, Elon Musk, contributed to the cause as well.

A lot of people donated. Some anonymous donations of huge numbers were made if I remember right...Some offered to match the donations raised too.

I can't wait until the science center opens. If they have volunteer clean ups of the property again this spring I may do it. It's great to know after all the years of uncertainty that the lab will be saved and we can all enjoy it.

I would make a trip to see it as well.

Let us all have an Oppo field trip.

Hell yeah, when it opens we'll have to organize an LI/Tristate-area Tesla meetup. There are some great driving roads around this area too.

I'm up in NH.....But I will have to make a trip down haha

I'm kind of thinking of saving up for a trip to Penn for Hershey park with the Fiance this year, if I can manage to save money after my car is up and running properly.

My girlfriend and I are saving for a Disney trip with my family.

I can not justify a trip to Disney...I would gladly go but it is just a theme park.

I have never been. I've been to Hershey and that seems good enough. They have activities and what not and lots of fun stuff to do. You can tour the factory sort of.

Meh, maybe if I go to Disney I will understand haha

If you ever go, you'll get it. I've been going since I was young and it's much more than just a theme park, especially if you do it right. I've been to Hershey and two Six Flags. The rides themselves are more fun, but Disney itself is on another level. If you just like roller coasters though, you'd be better served by a Six Flags, Hershey, or Universal.

I much prefer the rollercoaster and fast rides haha

But me and my fiance agreed that when we have kids we will take them to Disney.

Don't get me wrong, I love roller coasters too and that's probably my biggest problem with Disney. It's definitely worth it with kids though.
